“I wrote this in a very anxious but productive basement dwelt weekend, along with a few other tracks that made it to the final tracklisting for Migrant. I was dealing with a severely bruised ego after being asked for more songs to offset what I believed was an already finished album. The process was unnecessarily contentious, on my part, and I couldn’t really push that out of mind while writing, hence the angst. This song in particular directs a lot of that angst inward with some realization that, even while I am capable of identifying a problem, there seems to be another part of me I’m in constant conflict with, subconsciously keeping me from the solution.“
