Tanx (1973) is T. Rex's eighth album since their debut as 'Tyrannosaurus Rex' in 1968, and their fourth as 'T. Rex'. Band leader Marc Bolan began to incorporate soul music, funk and gospel influences into the glam rock mix, adding female backup singers and mellotron.
